The Serengeti is too large for one camp to suit every season. Start with your travel month and what you want to see, then choose a camp in the area that gives you the right access. These are typical wildlife patterns, not guarantees.
| Area | What makes it special | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| Central Serengeti | Seronera, resident wildlife and year-round game viewing | Good all year |
| Northern Serengeti | Kogatende and the Mara River crossing area | Typically Jul to Oct |
| Western Serengeti | The Grumeti area and nearby private reserves | Typically May to Jul |
| Southern plains / Ndutu | Short-grass plains and the calving season; Ndutu lies in the wider ecosystem outside the national park | Typically Dec to Mar |

Tell me how you like to stay, roughly what you'd like to spend, and the wildlife you'd love to see. I'll help you find a camp that feels right, in the part of the Serengeti that suits your dates.

The name alone does not tell you how a place feels. A camp can be simple and close to the bush or every bit as comfortable as a lodge.
Fixed safari camps with canvas accommodation. The experience ranges from pared-back to very comfortable.
More space and amenities under canvas. Choose the location and guiding as carefully as the suite.
Permanent buildings, usually with a more structured set of facilities. Useful if a pool or hotel-style base matters to you.
Seasonal sites that move to follow wildlife patterns. Ask where the camp will actually be for your dates.

Share your dates and the kind of safari you have in mind. We'll suggest camps in the right areas and help you choose the stay that feels right.
A permanent safari lodge has a fixed structure and usually more hotel-style facilities. A tented camp puts canvas between you and the bush, but comfort varies considerably: some are simple and traditional, while others have large suites and private pools. A mobile camp relocates with the seasons. Choose by location and style together, not by the word on the sign.
That depends on your dates. The southern plains around Ndutu are associated with calving from around December to March, while the far north is the usual base for Mara River crossings from around July to October. The herds follow the rains, so no camp can guarantee a crossing or an exact position. A mobile camp changes location during the year; check its current site before booking.
Yes. Each pin marks a sourced coordinate for the named property. It is not a driving route or a guaranteed entrance. Camps without a confirmed current location remain in the list without a pin; ask us to check their position for your dates.
Yes. A central base offers reliable year-round wildlife, while a second camp in the north, south or west can suit the season and the experience you want. The right combination depends on travel time, flights, your dates and how long you have.
