Why we like this lodge
You'll fall asleep surrounded by the sounds of the African bush and wake to elephants drinking at the watering hole directly below your private balcony - this prime Serengeti location delivers unparalleled wildlife viewing without leaving the lodge.
The contemporary African design feels both luxurious and authentic, featuring local Maasai textiles and artwork, while suites and villas come with private plunge pools overlooking the endless savannah.
Beyond typical safari fare, the lodge has a full-service spa, infinity pool, and the culturally immersive Boma Grill where Maasai dancers perform around crackling fires.
We love the lodge's commitment to sustainability - it operates the region's largest private solar farm and has eliminated single-use plastics, proving that luxury and environmental responsibility can beautifully coexist.

How does Four Seasons compare to other options in the Serengeti?
Four Seasons sits at the very top of the luxury pyramid in the Serengeti. While there are other high-end camps and lodges in the area, Four Seasons brings resort-style amenities that you typically wouldn't find in traditional safari camps.
You're getting amenities like a full spa with six treatment rooms, a multi-tiered infinity pool, 24-hour fitness center, and even conference facilities. Most other luxury options in the Serengeti focus purely on the safari experience with more rustic (though still luxurious) accommodations.
If you want that perfect blend of authentic safari adventure with resort-level service and amenities, Four Seasons delivers. It's definitely pricier than mobile camps or smaller lodges, but you're paying for that level of service and infrastructure that you won't find elsewhere in the park.

            Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti
-
What types of rooms can I choose from at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti? You've got three main options, each with its own perks. Standard Rooms are about 50 square meters with king beds and either savannah or horizon views, plus your own balcony to watch the wildlife below. If you want to step it up, the Suites are around 90 square meters and come with private plunge pools, separate sitting areas, and terraces that look right out over the water holes. That's where you'll often spot animals coming to drink. The Villas are the top tier with private swimming pools, separate living and dining rooms, and elevated views across the savannah. These give you the most space and privacy if you're celebrating something special or just want that extra luxury.
-
How much should I expect to pay for a stay here?Rates vary quite a bit depending on when you visit. Standard rooms can range from around $1,094 to $8,757, while suites typically run between $2,042 to $2,220. But here's what really affects the price - the season. During low season (March to May), you might pay around $1,500 per person per night. High season (July to October) when the Great Migration is happening can reach $4,500+ per person per night. Most rates are based on double occupancy and when you book with us, everything's taken care of in those all-inclusive packages. The good news is that most packages include meals, drinks, game drives, and more, so you're not nickel-and-dimed once you're there.
-
When's the best time to visit and how does that affect pricing? The lodge has three pricing seasons that line up perfectly with what's happening in the Serengeti. Low season runs March to May when it's green and lush but there's more rainfall. You'll get the best rates during this time. Shoulder season covers January-February, June, and November-December with mid-range pricing. Then there's peak season from July to October when rates are highest but you're right in the thick of the Great Migration. For wildlife viewing, you really can't go wrong with June to October for the migration spectacle, or January to February for calving season when you'll see tons of baby animals. The shoulder months can actually be perfect if you want great wildlife without the crowds.

What's included in my stay and what costs extra?Your all-inclusive package covers pretty much everything you need for an amazing safari. All meals are included, along with premium alcohol and beverages, two shared game drives daily, and even your laundry service. The main extras you'll pay for are the mandatory park fees and taxes (which we handle for you when you book with us), plus any optional activities like hot air balloon rides, private game drives, or spa treatments. Gratuities aren't included either, but your safari guide and lodge staff will definitely appreciate tips for great service. Hot air balloon safaris are particularly popular here since you get incredible views of the migration, but they do run around $500-600 per person.
-
Is Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti good for families with kids?Absolutely! This is one of the most family-friendly luxury lodges in the Serengeti with no minimum age requirements. Kids aged 0-10 stay completely free when sharing a room with two adults, which is pretty generous. Children aged 11-17 pay a supplement of about $200 per night, which is still reasonable considering everything that's included. The lodge has activities that work for families, and the Discovery Centre is especially great for curious kids who want to learn more about the ecosystem. The rooms are spacious enough for families, and the staff is used to accommodating children of all ages on safari.
-
How do I get to the lodge? You'll fly into Seronera Airstrip, which is about a 45-minute drive from the lodge. Most people take scheduled flights from either Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport - it's much easier than the long overland drive. The best part is that your transfer from the airstrip to the lodge is actually a game drive itself, so your safari starts the moment you land. When you book with us, we arrange all these transfers as part of your package, so you don't have to worry about the logistics. The flight over the Serengeti is pretty spectacular too, giving you a bird's-eye view of the landscape you'll be exploring.
-
Is Wi-Fi available at the lodge?Yes, you'll have complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the entire property. This is actually pretty impressive for a remote location in the Serengeti - many other lodges either don't offer Wi-Fi or have very limited connectivity. So you can stay connected, share those amazing wildlife photos, or catch up on work if needed. Though honestly, once you're watching elephants from your balcony, you might forget all about checking emails.
-
What wildlife can I expect to see right from the lodge? The lodge's location is incredible for wildlife viewing even when you're not on a game drive. You can spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) plus cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, and tons of plains game right from the property. The lodge overlooks a water hole, so animals regularly come to drink throughout the day. You might see elephants bathing, lions lounging in the shade, or giraffes stretching down for a drink - all while you're having breakfast or relaxing by the pool. During migration season, you could wake up to thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving across the landscape visible from your room. It's pretty magical.
-
Can I book private game drives instead of the shared ones?Yes, you can arrange private game drives for an additional fee beyond the two shared drives that come with your package. Private drives give you more flexibility with timing and route choices, plus your guide can focus entirely on what interests you most. The shared drives are actually quite good since Four Seasons keeps the vehicle numbers small, but private drives let you stay out longer if you've spotted something amazing or head back early if you want more pool time. When you book with us, we can arrange these private drives in advance so everything's sorted before you arrive.
-
What dining experiences can I expect? You've got several dining venues, each with its own vibe. Kula's Restaurant serves international and local cuisine and is where you'll have most of your meals. The food quality is excellent with both familiar dishes and Tanzanian specialties. Maji Bar and Terrace is perfect for light snacks and cocktails, especially during sundowner time when you can watch the sunset over the savannah with a drink in hand. The real highlight is the Boma Grill, which offers a traditional Maasai-inspired dining experience complete with cultural dances and barbecue under the stars. It's touristy in the best way and creates memories you'll talk about for years.
-
How committed is the lodge to conservation and sustainability?Four Seasons runs the largest private solar farm in the region, which is pretty impressive for a luxury property of this size. They've also got an on-site sewage treatment plant that recycles water for irrigation and have eliminated single-use plastics throughout the property. Beyond environmental efforts, they support the local community with initiatives like a safe house for women and girls and a local health clinic. When you stay here, you're contributing to conservation efforts and community development in a meaningful way. For a luxury lodge, they're setting a high standard for responsible safari practices without compromising on comfort or service.
