The best combination is not simply a safari with a hotel added at the end. Compare the routes, coastlines and travel styles that create a genuinely balanced trip.

The classic sequence starts with safari and finishes at the coast. Early game drives, changing camps and light-aircraft flights make the wildlife portion exhilarating, while the beach gives you time to slow down before flying home. We plan the connection as part of one itinerary rather than treating the coast as an afterthought.

Northern Tanzania and Zanzibar is the most straightforward all-round combination, linking the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire with an Indian Ocean beach stay. Kenya and Diani Beach is an excellent one-country alternative, while the Maasai Mara can also be paired with Zanzibar.
We usually recommend safari first and beach second. Safari days often involve early starts, game drives and moving between camps, so finishing at the coast creates a natural change of pace. We can reverse the order when flight schedules or personal preference make that work better.
Ten to fourteen days works well for most travellers. That usually allows six to nine nights across two or three safari areas, followed by three to five nights at the beach. Longer trips can add another country, gorilla trekking or a slower safari pace.
June to October is the broadest dry-season window for both safari and the East African coast. January and February are another strong option, particularly for Tanzania's Serengeti calving season. March to May brings heavier rains in much of East Africa, while November often has shorter showers.
Tanzania offers the widest choice of safari-and-Zanzibar combinations, including both northern and southern circuits. Kenya is ideal if you prefer to stay within one country and combine reserves such as Samburu and the Maasai Mara with Diani Beach. The right choice depends on your dates, wildlife priorities and preferred pace.
Yes. Brilliant Africa coordinates the safari camps, beach hotel, internal flights, road transfers and border connections as one tailor-made itinerary. We design the route around realistic schedules so the transition from safari to coast feels straightforward.
The strongest overall windows balance wildlife conditions with the weather on the East African coast. Exact timing varies by route, so we plan the safari and beach together.
Broadest all-round window: June to October. January and February are also strong, especially when paired with Tanzania's Serengeti calving season.
A smooth safari and beach trip depends on the details: the order of the route, sensible flight connections, enough time in each wildlife area and a beach hotel that matches how you want to finish. Our specialists coordinate every part as one tailor-made journey.
