Planning a safari you will both love

A couples safari can be romantic without being a honeymoon, luxurious without being formal and adventurous without filling every hour. We design the trip around what the two of you genuinely enjoy.

A private safari picnic beside a vehicle at sunset

Start with what you want to share

One of you may care most about wildlife and photography, while the other is dreaming about beautiful camps, good food or a few quiet days on the coast. That is completely normal. The best route gives both people something to look forward to.

We usually ask each person for their top priorities, then find the overlap. A private vehicle can add flexibility if your interests differ, while longer stays create time to enjoy the camp together without feeling that you are missing the safari.

Intimate camps and memorable experiences

Small camps often work beautifully for couples. They tend to feel personal, the teams get to know you quickly and there is space for private dinners, sundowners and relaxed time between drives.

Hot-air ballooning, walking safaris and nights under the stars can add a special moment, but the route should be strong before we add extras. One genuinely memorable experience is better than a long list of staged activities.

A peaceful beach retreat on Zanzibar

Safari, beach or both?

The classic choice is safari followed by Zanzibar or the Kenyan coast. It works because the rhythm changes completely: early starts and wildlife first, then warm water, long lunches and very little to organise.

Not every couple wants a beach, and that is fine. Extra nights in the bush, gorilla trekking or a second country may suit you better. We will build the final chapter around the way you like to relax.

Safari ideas for couples

Browse well-paced journeys for two, from classic wildlife routes to safari-and-beach combinations. We will tailor the balance of adventure, privacy and downtime around you both.

Couples Safaris: your questions answered

Are couples safaris only for honeymoons?

No. Couples travel for anniversaries, milestone birthdays or simply to share an unforgettable holiday. The trip is planned around the two of you and the occasion, if there is one.

Can we combine adventure with time to relax?

Yes. We can balance active safari days with longer stays, slower mornings, private moments in camp and an optional beach finish.

Can we have a private safari vehicle?

Often, yes. A private vehicle can give you more control over timings, photography and how long you stay at a sighting. Availability and cost vary by camp.

Which destinations work well for couples?

Kenya and Tanzania offer classic wildlife and easy beach combinations, while Botswana suits couples looking for remote camps, water-based safari and a strong sense of wilderness.

Can you arrange special meals or celebrations?

Selected camps can arrange private dinners or thoughtful celebration touches. Tell us what you are marking and we will recommend suitable stays and confirm what can be arranged.
