Kenya brings together the famous plains of the Maasai Mara, quieter private conservancies, the northern wilderness and an easy beach finish. Flick through some of the experiences we can build into your tailor-made safari.

The Maasai Mara is one of Africa's most rewarding big-cat destinations. Lion prides rest on the open plains, cheetah scan the grasslands and leopard shelter along the rivers. We pair the famous national reserve with quieter private conservancies, where low vehicle numbers and expert guiding make each sighting feel unhurried.

For a first Kenya safari, combine one wildlife-rich area with a contrasting landscape rather than trying to cover everything. Leave enough time in each camp for the guides, weather and wildlife to shape the day.

Kenya is a year-round safari destination. June to October is the long dry season, with excellent game viewing and the Great Migration usually reaching the Maasai Mara from around July. January to March is another strong dry-season window. April and May bring the long rains, while November and December are greener, quieter and often better value. We match your route to the wildlife, weather and atmosphere you want.
Our current Kenya trips start from $4,650 per person for a scheduled small-group tour. Classic tailor-made itineraries generally run from around $7,175 to $11,130, while luxury trips using Kenya's finest camps start from roughly $12,391. The final cost depends on season, camp style, internal flights and trip length. We design around your budget rather than fitting you into a fixed package.
Seven to ten days works well for most first-time Kenya safaris, giving you time to combine the Maasai Mara with Amboseli, Samburu or Laikipia without rushing. With 12 to 14 days, you can add more wilderness areas or finish on the Kenyan coast. Shorter Mara-only trips are possible, while a slower three-week journey can explore much more of the country.
The Maasai Mara is the classic starting point for big cats and the Great Migration. Amboseli adds elephant herds and views of Kilimanjaro; Samburu brings dry northern landscapes and distinctive wildlife; and Laikipia's conservancies are superb for rhino conservation, walking and low-vehicle safaris. We recommend the combination that best fits your interests, dates and pace.
Yes. Kenya has an excellent domestic flight network, so it is straightforward to fly from the safari areas to Diani Beach or elsewhere on the Indian Ocean coast. You can also connect to Zanzibar. A beach stay of three or four nights is a relaxed way to finish after early starts and busy days on safari.
Yes. The herds usually enter the Maasai Mara from the Serengeti from around July and remain into October, with August and September often strong months for river-crossing chances. Wildlife does not follow a fixed timetable, so no crossing can be guaranteed. We choose the right part of the Mara and can combine Kenya with the northern Serengeti to improve your chances.
Absolutely. Kenya has family-focused camps with spacious rooms and flexible activities, as well as intimate conservancy lodges, star beds and beach retreats that work beautifully for honeymoons. We tailor the driving time, room setup, activities and pace around who is travelling, rather than using the same itinerary for everyone.
Kenya rewards travel throughout the year. The long dry season brings classic game-viewing conditions and the Great Migration, while January to March is another excellent dry window. The greener months bring fewer visitors, migratory birds and stronger value.
Peak window: June to October for dry conditions and superb general game viewing. July to October for the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara, with August and September often strong for river-crossing chances.
Roughly two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle move in a continuous clockwise loop around the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem each year. Here's where the herds are, season by season.
Dec–Mar, Calving season on the southern plains (Ndutu)
Apr–May, Herds mass and move through the central Serengeti
May–Jun, Grumeti River & the Western Corridor
Jul–Aug, North to the Mara River crossings into Kenya
Aug–Oct, Grazing in the Maasai Mara
Nov, Returning south down the eastern Serengeti
Timings are typical patterns, not guarantees. The herds follow the rains, so they shift year to year. Our specialists position you for the best chance of the action when you travel.
