Itinerary
The itinerary below is designed to give you an overview of the route. Get in touch with our team for a full travel itinerary, or to create a tailor-made trip.
Day 1: The Adventure Begins!
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will receive a VIP Meet and Greet before being transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Here you can rest up after your international flight and and meet your guides who will talk you through the plan for the adventure to come.
Depending on your international flight arrival time, you could head straight to the Ngorongoro on arrival. Alternatively, there are some wonderful local activities around Arusha and the Kilimanjaro area if you want to take the day to explore.
Overnight at Rivertrees Country Inn.
Days 2-3: Ngorongoro Crater
The next morning, begin your journey through northern Tanzania as you visit the Masai Boma at Mto Wa Mbu village and market, stopping for a local lunch and a village walk. Alternatively, game drive through Lake Manyara National Park before continuing to the Ngorongoro. The camp sits on the crater rim providing incredible views over the crater and early access to the crater floor for safari.
The next day you have a full day on safari in the Ngorongoro Crater. What once was a fiery, lava strewn, inhospitable area is now home to 25,000 large animals, including lion, black rhino, elephant, and giraffes. After a day on safari in the crater, transfer back to your lodge for sundowners before dinner.
Overnight at Entamanu Ngorongoro.
Days 4-6: Serengeti National Park
Next, jump back in the jeep and head west towards the vast Serengeti National Park. Game drive through the park towards your camp/lodge.
Note: to track the herds of the Great Migration, where you stay in the Serengeti will depend on your travel dates. This itinerary includes Central Serengeti, but if you are travelling during peak season you will want to be in the North if you want to maximise your experience of the migration. Our team can help you understand which option is right for you.
Spend the next 3 nights in the Serengeti, heading out on morning and afternoon game drives. A wonderful experience to add on to your time in the Serengeti is a hot air balloon safari. Get in touch with our team to find out more.
Overnight at Dunia Camp.
Day 7 to 9: Zanzibar
After a final breakfast overlooking the savannah, transfer to the airstrip to connect with a light air flight to Zanzibar. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your beachfront hotel. Spend the next few days relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar (lots of optional activities available here!).
Overnight at Breezes Beach Club & Spa.
Day 10: Return Home
As you adventure comes to an end, transfer to the airport to connect with your international flight home.
Day rooms can be arranged depending on your international flight times
