Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Ilboru Safari Lodge, a short distance from Arusha City Centre.
Overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge on bed and breakfast basis (excludes other meals, drinks and laundry).
Earliest check-in time is 1400. Travellers arriving on early morning flights should book a pre-night at an additional cost for guaranteed access to your rooms.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Morning at leisure with safari briefing followed by lunch. In the afternoon, join a seat-in-vehicle safari and depart Arusha. Pass through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. At the town of Makuyuni, continue to Lake Burunge on the western edge of Tarangire National Park where you'll find your lodge nestled on the lake shores.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, jump back into your safari vehicle for game viewing within the park in search of large lion prides and elephant herds. Drive through the baobab tree lined park and explore the Silale swamp. Return to your camp for lunch.
Afternoon drive north through the park and to the town of Makuyuni where you continue the journey through a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over the distant Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park
After breakfast there is a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park that returns to the camp for lunch. Leaving Lake Manyara behind, the journey continues north west across the stunning hilly countryside of the highlands which is filled with wheat and coffee plantations, and then into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. From here lie the vast plains of the Serengeti, where you begin spotting wildlife as you approach the entrance gate. Complete the formalities and enter the park. Game drive through the park en route to the camp.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park.

Optional Shared Hot Air Balloon Safari
You may book a hot air balloon safari for this day. Early morning shared transfer in the balloon company vehicle to the balloon staging site. You meet the pilot who provides a safety briefing while the crew inflate the hot air balloon. At sunrise, your shared hot air balloon lifts off over the Serengeti plains. At times, your pilot will ascend to a higher altitude to give you an overview of the ecosystem. Then you descend to just above treetop level to silently observe the wildlife below. After about 50 minutes, you land and are met by the balloon staff to transport you to your shared bush breakfast. You then return to your camp or lodge. Please note that the cost is NOT included in the safari cost. Please ask for the current rates.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro, game driving through the Serengeti en route. Stop for a picnic lunch before continuing your journey towards Ngorongoro. Pass along the rim of the crater and descend to the park gate and your lodge. The lodge is located in Karatu, surrounded by farmland and a view of the backwall of the crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest natural wildlife arena. After an early breakfast, you drive to the park gate and descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. A truly unique wildlife experience. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Return to Arusha
Depart Ngorongoro Crater after breakfast, head south east past the highlands and the Karatu district, Lake Manyara and Mto wa Mbu Village. You will view the scenic wheat plains and coffee plantations here before journeying down the spectacular escarpment turning south on to the main road to Arusha. The journey will pass through the Masai Steppe filled with many picturesque African villages as well as maize, coffee and banana plantations. On arrival in Arusha lunch is provided followed by transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to connect international departure flight.

Prices for domestic flights, airport taxes or park fees may be changed without prior notice. This is beyond our control and any increase levied will be passed to you.
Passengers arriving to Kenya and Tanzania may be required to provide proof of vaccination against yellow fever.
Transfers may be in a two-wheel drive 7 passenger minibuses or 24 passenger coaches.
There is a supplement of $90.00 for a participant arriving and departing alone to cover the transfer costs. Participants travelling alone cannot be confirmed unless at least three other participants are already booked on the departure.
