What we love about Kwihala Camp

Elephant haven - Ruaha National Park has a high density of elephant population within its borders, meaning that during your stay, there's high chance of spotting the immense residents off in the distance.

Based on history - Kwihala Camp was built with the tents used during historic expeditions in mind. Simple and comfortable, they pay homage to the safari experiences of times gone by.

Ideal location - The camp is in close proximity, which is one of the best locations for game viewing in the park. An abundance of animals gather around, but the nearest humans are far away.

Brilliant says

Kwihala is set deep in the forest, surrounded by rain, fig, sausage and jackalberry trees. Its location near to the Mwagusi River makes it one of the best locations in Ruaha National Park for game viewing.

When to Visit

The best time to visit Kwihala is from June to October when the climate is hot and dry, and you’ll find the best wildlife-viewing opportunities.

From November to April is the wet season, turning the park’s landscape to a lush green, making it an excellent time for photography. The migratory birds are in Ruaha over the wet season, too.

Kwihala Camp is closed from mid-March until June.
